Love your enemies?

How can we love our enemies without becoming enemies ourselves? How so we stand up to hate without becoming haters ourselves?

In Luke 6:27-28, Jesus says: “But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.”

So how does hating the haters fix anything?

We must find understanding in our hearts, to remove animosity for the people with whom we have disagreements. We must stop the behavior without demeaning the person. This can be one of life’s greatest challenges.

If we do not see how we are all in this thing called life together, we will just stay at each other’s throats.

As  Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend.”
