How can you say you Love your country if you have disdain for a large portion of your fellow citizens? How can we disagree with someone’s ideas or beliefs without hating who they are as a fellow human being?
And what do we do about the disagreements? What if we feel threatened by the political ideas of others?
The United States is great because of the founding principles of equality (which have thankfully evolved to be even more significant that at first). When we disagree with others, we must do so on the basis of these principal values. If we agree on the principles, then we are halfway there.
So we defend the values in our Constitution. With Love for all people.
