Content Management Systems

Content Managements Systems (CMS) are programs that ease the process of making information available on a web site.
With traditional web sites, the editor creates numerous independent pages with interconnecting links. These pages are uploaded to the web site where they are more or less static – the content does not change until the editor makes a change and uploads again.
A CMS dynamically assembles a page a page from several components. Some or all of these components can change “on the fly.” The content of the site is normally stored in a database, and a template is used to present this information to the web site visitor.
This web site runs a CMS known as Contentor.
