Why i use lower case for for the first-person singular pronoun:

• It's hard to find someone who knows why we ever started capitalizing "I" in the first place,
• in formal writing, i would use "I", except "I" (traditionally) should be avoided in formal writing,
• saves me hitting the shift key when typing,
• saves toner when printing,
• but most importantly, i have quite enough ego already, thank you very much!

Ironically, the Contentor Content Management System which runs this site (and which i wrote), insists on making the "breadcrumb" link at the top of this page into upper case!!
